Awakening To The Dream
Two weeks ago while I was in the midst of a spiritual emotional crisis and rebirth, Jean Houston, a spiritual philosopher of our time, looked me straight in the eyes and said, “ Wake up from this dream.” In that moment time seemed to slow down. Was I dreaming? Was this real? It felt like deja vu.
Today as I was chanting, this experience arose. I realized that we all need to wake up from within the dreams that we hold ourselves in. And once we are awake, anything is possible. For years I have talked about dreaming our world into being, and though I have manifested many things in my life, today I have truly felt inside that I have awoken to this dream that I have been holding myself in. Now I am free to truly create and see the world around me anew. This reminds me of a time that I woke up within a nighttime dream…
When I was a child I had a reoccurring dream that a lion was chasing me through an old town. After having this dream over and over again, one day within the dream I was running from the lion and I stopped in my tracks and thought to myself that this had happen before. I then turned to the lion and faced him head on and said, “We have done this many times and you never catch me, so why are you still chasing me? What do you want from me?” The lion responded that he wanted friendship and we then became friends and went on our way together. After this shift occurred in dreamtime, a huge shift simultaneously occurred in my life and the dream never occurred again.
The ability of my conscious to awaken to this dream created a large shift and transformation in the physical realm. I believe that just as when we become conscious in a dream and create change––which often moves energy and brings transformation in our lives–– when we awaken to the dream of this reality, we can create change in our own world. This means not taking life too seriously, noticing signs of support in our environment, listening to our intuition and taking an active role to create the lives in which we imagine. We are not subjects of this reality in which we live, but rather we are creative conscious beings who manifest profound changes in our world. The instant we open our eyes to the true dimensions of creation and this reality, we find ourselves able to begin to dream our worlds into being, we are free to notice, to feel and to raise consciousness in the world around us. The question is: Are you willing to wake up to the dream in which you are living?
